Individual

& Couples

Psychotherapy

Thank you for your interest in my practice.

With over fifteen years of experience in the field, I enjoy working with adults of all ages in both individual and couples therapy. You may be seeking counseling with specific, targeted concerns and/or generally feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or looking to make some sort of change (in life, relationships,  or behaviors, etc.).

I work from a client-centered approach, which means that my focus is on the therapeutic relationship, authenticity, and perhaps most importantly, collaboration. Theoretically, I operate from an attachment-based psychodynamic lens, integrating elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, relational interventions, and mindfulness/experiential techniques. I value creativity, curiosity, and a sense of humor in my work with clients; your unique experience and goals will guide the path  that therapy takes and our work together will be individually tailored to your needs.

I am happy to provide a free 15 minute phone consultation if you are interested in learning more about my services.

About Eve

My Approach

I believe that who we are in relationship — with partners, family members, and even ourselves — is shaped by experiences throughout our lifetime. My approach starts with where you are today: we'll spend time focused on your current life, relationships, and goals, bringing in your history and early life experiences to shed light on patterns that may be shaping your present-day experiences. My work is grounded in attachment theory and relational principles, which means I’m interested not just in your symptoms, but in the stories and dynamics that underlie them. Therapy with me is collaborative, curious, and honest.

For individuals, I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed practice — always with an eye toward understanding not just what you’re experiencing, but why, and how it connects to your larger story.

For couples, I’m influenced by the developmental model of Bader and Pearson, the research-based methods of John Gottman, the relational honesty of Terry Real’s Relational Life Therapy, and the ideas of Esther Perel on desire, identity, and long-term partnership. My focus with couples is on helping you identify the cycles and dynamics you get stuck in, understand what’s driving them, and build new ways of relating that create lasting change.

Background

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor certified by the Tennessee Board for Professional Counselors, and I hold a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Vanderbilt University, where I also served as adjunct faculty. I’m a member of the American Counseling Association and Chi Sigma Iota, and I’ve worked across settings including college counseling, alcohol and drug treatment, and trauma-focused care.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I graduated from the University of Virginia where I earned my BA in English. I went on to work for several years as a publicist in the publishing industry, and my experiences connecting with a diverse group of creative and unique people paved the way for my interest in counseling and psychology. I consider myself fortunate to be able to connect with people on a daily basis and play a part in positive change and growth. Originally from South Carolina, I am happy to have made Nashville my home.
