Frequently Asked Questions
How are sessions structured, and what are your fees?
I typically see clients on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, although alternative scheduling arrangements can be made to suit your needs. My fee for a 50-minute psychotherapy session is $200 for individuals and $220 for couples and families. If you pay by credit card there will be a $5 processing fee. Extended sessions (90 or 120 minutes) are available and billed proportionally based on the standard 50 minute rate.
I understand that therapy requires a significant commitment of your finances, time, and energy. I believe it is one of the most meaningful investments you can make in yourself, and part of our work together will be to ensure that the time and resources you devote to this process feel worthwhile, purposeful, and aligned with your goals.
Do you accept insurance?
I am not a member of any health insurance plans or panels, meaning that I do not collect co-pays or bill insurance companies for reimbursement of services provided. Although I am not an in-network provider, I will provide you with any documentation that you need to file for out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients prefer not to use insurance due to privacy concerns, the limitations of working with formal diagnoses, limits placed on number of sessions and types of treatment, and potential impact on permanent health records. If you prefer to bill your insurance company to defer the cost of counseling, I will be happy to provide referrals for insurance 00zproviders.
What are your office hours?
I am in the office Monday - Friday, 9 am - 3 pm, and sessions will typically fall within that framework. My office is conveniently located on Music Row, in walking distance of Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Sessions are offered both in person and via telehealth using a HIPAA-compliant video platform, allowing for flexibility while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations must be made 48 hours to the hour of the appointment to avoid being charged a late cancel charge, which is equal to the fee for the session. For example, if your session is at 11am on a Thursday then you would need to contact me by 11am on Tuesday to avoid being charged. I do not charge if cancellations happen within 48 hours due to illness.
